De bono Thinking Hats used for New classrooms! 🎩

🍩Hey Everyone! This is a special edition πŸ’Ž post. By the way it is Hilary 😊 (even though you already know)😁

WALT use de Bono Thinking Hats to show understanding. We had to write a paragraph about the classroom in each of these speech bubbles. πŸ—¨ My thinking hats have lots of information about what I like about the new classroom, what I don't like, what is creative, what are the facts ('cause after all the facts are facts, you just gotta face them) , what you should do know. Have a look at the information below! By the way if you don't understand what is going on, we are moving ( or rather already moved ) to a new building called Te Waka Ako ( as you can see in the embedded photo which means ), it has very cool furniture and we work together as a Syndicate sometimes, we mostly work in the Hauraki space (which is my space) which is biggest but we can also work in the Red Room. Our classroom is the coolest!!!!πŸ‘ΎπŸ˜Ž

I learnt what the blue and red hat means and ( I think ) how to use them. Here are some photos of the new classrooms and also a link that is relevant to my work.

Maori Seasons 🌞❄🌲🌷

                                 πŸŒž❄🌲🌷Hi everybody, it's Hilary! πŸŒž❄🌲🌷
We made a google drawing (except I tried the link when I embedded the google drawing so I made it into a google slide THEN I embedded it) about the four seasons in Te Reo Maori and English, I also put a link to a screencastify I made.  I didn't take that long actually, but I had a hard time deciding which font I should use to make it look nice. I found some really nice photos of all the seasons.

Description of the 6 different symbols or shapes you used.
Then add the reason why you chose them.

I chose this pattern because it’s Maori but at the same time it’s not and so it’s unique in it’s own way.

I chose this pattern  because it’s a common Pacifica pattern. ( which is triangles and fishes)

I chose this pattern because it’s got korus, red and black so it’s Maori.

I chose this pattern because it is a pacifican flower but I made it into this kind of flower so  it isn't a flower anymore and it's more like my own creation.

I chose this pattern because it has all the Maori colours and has korus.

I chose this pattern because I saw something similar to this and I made it into this.

Tooth Slideshow

                                       πŸŒ»Hi Everyone! It's Hilary!🌻
I did this slideshow from last term, it's about this book that our teacher read, it's called 'The Tooth' and it's super interesting! It's about two boys who are best friends and them finding a dinosaur fossil, I really think that you should read this book! The process of the work was pretty easy and didn't take long but the decorating surprisingly took very long!πŸ“

Caesar the Anzac bulldog!πŸ•

                                        πŸ•πŸŒ·Hi Everyone! It's Hilary!πŸŒ·πŸ•
This term we read a story about Anzac day, it was called Caesar the Anzac dog. This story is a really interesting story and it's about a bulldog who's a mascot for New Zealand and is a red cross dog but at the end tragedy struck. The questions were mostly really easy and the blog post for Philippa Werry and the Museum was pretty easy too. My favourite part of the story was when the boys named the dog Caesar after Caesar the bulldog!🐢

Dear, ... Moth eaten Diary!

πŸ‘Έ Hi Everyone, it's Hilary here! πŸ‘Έ
Last term (which is Term 1 if you didn't know) we used our 5 senses (πŸ‘€πŸ‘‚πŸ‘ƒπŸ‘„πŸ‘…) to write a journal in our diary, we had to pretend that we were Anzac Soldiers! Hope you like it and don't forget to comment!✌πŸ˜ΌπŸ˜€

WALT describe using our senses

Most of the soldiers were still alive but were all very tired and are sleeping on the ground.  People  are starting to itch because of lice and ticks. Then mice started running everywhere, over people and trying to get into the food.  Lots of people were writing letters to their loved ones but here I am writing in my diary because I have no family.

Content rustles and the occasional murmur were heard along with other strange unusual noises.  No one was complaining for they knew that there were worst things yet to come. Just a little bit of chatter.

I was starving, I went to open a tin of corned beef but when I peeled it open it was empty except some ants and bugs scurrying around still searching for food, I wonder if the rats ate them. So instead I have decided to eat some biscuits. I got some and hid them away because I’m a slow eater for if I don’t I’ll starve. They tasted flavourless and hard, nearly chipped my tooth but I’m going to have to get used to it because war won’t end for a very long time. I poured some water into my mouth, I felt the water dribble down my throat, feeling like a desert with rain raining down.

There was this horrible stench coming from somewhere, it might be some sort of food that is already starting to rot, it might be something probably a body that’s decaying or it could just be because we haven’t washed for a long time.

Now the smell was unbearable, it smelt like compost from when we used to garden with Ma.

I could feel something scuttling  beneath my hand and shifted, the ground was damp and rough.  I felt Ermengarde’s little body squirm under my hand, I patted him gently.

I felt alone for once, even with  Ermengarde’s warmth against my body. I have a horrible feeling that I won’t make it to the end. I Hope I will live to see the day where I go back home feeling like a hero able to have a family and look after them and make watch them grow.

I think that I won’t be able to make it.
My trench diary is really long but it's not boring so you won't fall asleep... zzzzzzzz. Anyways, it always makes things interesting if you add descriptive language.

Blog Audience!

Hi peeps! It's HilaryπŸ‘§
Today we thought about what kind of audiences we would get on our blog, we have classmates (maybe you), Random people (maybe you),Google (maybe you) and a bunch of other options.
Hope you like it and don't forget to comment and follow me.
I think that I actually get a lot of random people but people who comment are usually part of the Ako Hiko cluster or classmates or teachers.

My Anzac Day Experience!

Ryan’s Chipmunk Birthday

Oh, if I only did something interesting.

On Anzac Day, me and my family went to Chipmunk’s because it was nearly my brother’s birthday and we had to pick up a homemade cake.

On Anzac Day my parents decided that we should go to Chipmunk’s since we had nothing fun to do before we could pick up the cake. My brother sang all the way to Henderson, but then again so did I. We had lots of fun on the way even though we hadn’t even arrived at our destination. My dad put on my brother’s nursery rhymes and we sang along. When we did arrive my brother didn’t want to go in, because he thought it was going to be a trip to somewhere boring, but in the end he didn’t even want to leave! (Read to the end to find out what happens.)

We went in, but it felt like the place was smaller since the last time I came (which was the year 2016 AKA last year). I really wanted to go to the little kids area because they had lots of different things that the 3-11 age group play area doesn’t have, but then again the 3-11 area is 2 times the size of the toddlers area. I went in. Woah, this place was awesome. There were spinny thingies which I could go real fast on, the ball pit (which is still 2 times the size of the ball

pit the little kids have!), two trampolines ( it isn’t that flexible so I kind of didn’t jump very high and it hurt my back), a flying fox ( I can’t go on it because I’m too tall and it’s not like the one at school because it is made out of rope and slides across too easily)  There’s three humongous slides next to each other and a red, yellow and blue. It was super long, but it was really fun. What else lots of people find really fun, but not me of course, was three levels of sponge-ball-shooting guns which obviously (as you can see from the text) shoots sponge balls, The shots boomed across the whole place.

I explored the place up and down, but still couldn’t seem to find where everything was. The slide was super fun! One thing you need to know though after you slide on the slide several times you will start getting super stuck and you won’t be able to slide down smoothly but ( why the frown now?) you can always try after a little while, I mean it’s not like there’s nothing else fun to play on. Why do you need a trampoline? For a happy bouncy chipmunk! So that’s what I did, I bounced up and down on the uptight trampoline! It seemed like the higher I bounced (which is not really high seeing as the trampoline is too tightly knitted together and stiff, and also nearly broke my back!) the harder the trampoline because and the more my back hurts so I decided never to go on it again ( I vowed to NEVER GO ANYWHERE NEAR IT), there was though. A colourful ball pit was situated behind the flying fox. When I tried the flying fox I nearly tripped over, because I was so fat! ( well not really, and I suggested if you’re over five do NOT try the flying fox) That sure was scary. I went up and past everything then I arrived at the castle turret and my Dad and Nana took some photos of us in the globe and the turret. I then slid down the slide, Whoosh! It was the most exhilarating thing ever.

I went on the trampoline/Slide place, I climbed up to the top (without getting scared which is rare seeing as I’m scared of heights and I was also going really fast) I hesitated before I zoomed down the slide at top speed. Swish! I nearly flipped over at the end, but it was still really fun though, I kept on going again and again and again, I just couldn’t stop. I led my brother out of the toddlers area and into the general area. My brother scrambled up the steps and we slid down the slide a million times ( most of the time without getting stuck) with me stacked on top of him.
Later I tried to get him to spin on the spinny stools like me ( I spun so fast that you could’ve mistaken me for a Cheetah trying to get off a pole with it’s paws glued on.), it was really fun though.

Then it was time to go, my brother was really embarrassing!! He started crying and yelling at the top of his lungs and no matter what, he wouldn’t go! So in the end my dad had to drag him out. My mom said that it was weird how he wanted to go home at first but then he didn’t!

That day it was so much fun, and guess what?  I can’t wait to taste some eggless Thomas the Tank Engine birthday cake!

Isn't my writing just so good? Well, if it is then don't forget to check out my other posts and also, don't forget to comment!

(By the way, I couldn't get any photos of Chipmunk's Playland and cafe but I did get really cute chipmunk photos!)

Restarting my blog!

                              πŸ’ŸHi everyone, it's Hilary!πŸ’Ÿ
